Microsoft Certification(s)

There are so many different ones
MCITP, MCTS, MCPD, MCSA, MCSD, MCSE, MCSM, etc etc etc

Doing some research on them now, but does anyone care to help explain and clarify them to me?

What exactly do these all teach you, are the worth getting, I'm seeing quite a few jobs which require/recommend getting them.

Yeah I've been looking through there for a while, it seems really unorganized and messy to me :/ I'm trying though, and Googling too.
