Hello all,

so my sister got a game, rome total war 2, for her husband, aka, my in law.

Their current laptop leaves a bit to be desired, it also doesn't help that they have 3 little kids destroying stuff.

ANYHOW, the budget she gave me is extremely low so ignore it really. She asked me to find a computer that met the recomended requirements (http://wiki.totalwar.com/w/Rome_II_Recommended_Specs) for Rome Total War 2.
The budget she had was 250$. now theres no way i can find a laptop to meet that criteria for that price.

Any help would be appreciated. anything under 500$ is a viable option.

Let me know.

Thanks and get ready for tons of scripts from me!!!

Newegg laptops, sorted price low to high with dedicated graphics card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100006740%20600029658&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=20)
On that note...my samsung Series 5 AMD "ultrabook" with "dedicated graphics" can't even run Netflix HD (youtube 720p though which is weird) so ya...not that game friendly

thanks a bunch cause! I told my sister if she had a budget of 500$ it'd be more feasible, this kind of compounds it.

Wouldn't take long to slap the parts together. I'm not sure if anyplace else is cheaper then newegg nowadays, it's been a while since I built one. I get lots of junk leftovers from work.

One example under $300:

Yeah looks good. My mother has the same i3 3220 processor. It performs well :)

gpu is your main bottleneck, i3's will handle pretty much any game in existence since they don't use more than 2-3 threads in the first place.

recomended requirements for Rome Total War 2.

Hey dude,

Just a headsup, Rome Total War 2 is their worst optimised Total War game, I got it on release and still have issues with it (I have the others whacked up to maximum and it's fine).

You can actually get smoother FPS by using a shogun configuration file :P

Just a headsup if it doesn't work
