View Full Version : Simba on Ubuntu Question

As I am getting the error Invalid parameter, failed to find java path,how would I fix this? and will there be a problem calling for Smart, SRL,and SPS?

How do I fix this?

atm I am running Ubuntu with Simba through wine.

I assume your are getting the error when starting a script with Smart? I believe the error is outside of Simba and something wrong with your WINE enviroment. Did you install "java for windows offline" JRE through WINE? --downloading the JRE execultable and then executing it with wine. Here's the link for Java 7 offline from oracle's site: http://download.oracle.com/otn-pub/java/jdk/7u51-b13/jre-7u51-windows-i586.exe.

Then simply open up a terminal:


wget http://download.oracle.com/otn-pub/java/jdk/7u51-b13/jre-7u51-windows-i586.exe
wine jre-7u51-windows-i586.exe


Side note, currently everything works but the java GUI flickers when SMART is enabled, but I believe that is an error with my graphics in linux and not WINE.

I downloaded the jdk because I figured that would be a better choice, Ill do what you said and see if that fixes everything,

I am unable to get it into opengl I am working on it though, but your fix let me get smart open. Thanks

Yeah I wasn't able to get Runescape to use OpenGL even in vanilla Ubuntu...

with NVidea binary blobs and openjdk7.

Guess I will use windows xp in the vm, once I receive my new heat sink because stock I am hitting 160 degree eek.
