If it's "become" laggy I'd reccommend completely wiping the phone and installing cyanogenmod. It will be like a whole new phone. And if it isn't you haven't lost anything as long as you've done a backup before hand.

With the 64 bit processor, word "lag" does not exist on my phone!

is the htc one m8 really worth the extra 300 compared to the nexus 5? they both look super slick.

and do any of you have tmobile? can i trade my s3 and knock some money off the price of a new phone or something?

Well I'm just happy with my simple Chinese phone. I bought it back in October 2013 a little over $200, 1.5gh quad-core, 2gb RAM, 32gb ROM, 5.0" FHD, and all the normal stuff (Android 4.2.2, 13MP camera, and so on...). For that price it's really nice, no problems with it aside from the back cover has a crack in the corner from where I've dropped it (it's a really thin cover). I really think Chinese smart phones are underestimated.

Edit:
Oh yeah, and my friend bought a phone from the same place with the same specifications except it's a Note 3 clone with 5.7" screen and 1.7gh Octa-core, she even paid less than I paid for my phone.

If you want the raw Android experience, go Nexus 5. The HTC One screams quality to me. Personally, it depends on your preference and budget. Most of the time i would go for quality over pricing when it comes to phones. I consider them more of an accessory; within reason of course. (If phones were compulsory i would just use an old nokia). Another option would be an Oppo Find 7, if you can get your hands on one.

I've had a Chinese octa-core phone for about 4 months and I love it. It's got 2GB ram, 16GB rom, 14mp camera, 5.5" 1080p screen, and it just got updated to Andriod 4.4.2 ;)

Very nice, how much did you pay for it? I can't remember if my friend's phone is 16gb or 32gb, whichever one it is it's more than enough for what she uses it for. It performs very well.

It's the ZOPO ZP998 (http://www.zopomobileshop.com/en/198-zopo-zp998-mt6592-2gb-ram-32gb-rom-55inch-ips-fhd-14-mp-camera-android-phone.html), I got it for $300usd in March which included shipping to NZ + a flip case. It arrived in 7 days (5 days actual shipping, 2 days processing).
