A few hours ago, Google announced that it is releasing the Nexus 6 smartphone and Nexus 9 tablet, as well as a TV player later this month into early November.

Nexus 6, a smartphone with a 6-inch display made by Motorola
Nexus 9, a tablet with an 8.9-inch display manufactured by HTC
The Nexus Player, a streaming media player by Asus and the first device running Android TV.


The Nexus 6 will be available for preorder on October 29 and available in November, sold unlocked or through carriers.
Sprint, US Cellular, AT&T and T-Mobile will sell the Nexus 6 in the US.
The 32GB version of the Nexus 6 will cost $649 unlocked, while the 64GB version will cost $699.

The Nexus 9 and Nexus Player will be available for preorder on October 17, and will hit stores on November 3.
The 16GB version of the Nexus 9 will cost $399, the 32GB version will cost $479 and the 32GB version with LTE will cost $599.
The Nexus Player and remote control will cost $99 with an optional controller for $40.

This is great news but I'm wondering why the phones are getting bigger and bigger, 6" is a bit too much if you ask me.

A lot of people, including myself, love large screens. Note that this thing is also gonna be 1440p, which is insane for a phone - I still only have a 1080p monitor!

I was going to be getting a OnePlus One very soon, but seeing this, I might just have to wait on the Nexus 6. Depending on prices of course.

Why did Google have to conform and go for a stupidly priced phone :(. Nexus 5 was the best because it had stock Android, the best (or tied for the best) specs and it was half the price of all the other similar smartphones.

I guess I won't judge until it actually get's released/reviewed though.

How much RAM is on the Nexus 6? I didn't catch that in the specs page.
