So I picked up 2 8gb ram stick for $20 total. I already had 1 8gb ram stick.

Would combining all three of those be worse or would just running two of them bet better?

I mainly use the computer for gaming.

First stick (The solo stick)

The other stick (The pair)

Since they have a different speed (1333 <> 1600) and peak transfer rate (12800 <> 10666) they may not even be compatable

So lets assume they are compatible, is it better two run the two identical sticks or all three?

Typically when they are combined like that with different clock speeds the computer sees them all as the lower speed in order to be able to use them. So it normally is better off to just stick with the two!

Depends on the max speed capacity of the motherboard. If the board clocks in at 1333 and you have 1 stick of 1333 and 2 of 1600, it's better to put in all because the board would limit you anyway. Might as well take the extra memory.

If the board clocked in at 1600 and the other stick is 1333, you'll have to test capacity vs. speed. I personally don't see much of a difference but it does slow down two sticks..

You're actually going to have to test it. Wrong type won't fit, wrong speed downclocks.
