Hi guise, this is my current pc:

Procesor
INTEL CORE i3 540 de 3.06 Ghz.-2/4 Nucleos HT-LGA1156-, 4Mb. L3 Smart Cache

RAM
6144 Mb. DDR3 Kingston 1333 Mhz. Dual Channel

Mother Board
Intel DH55 Chipset DDR3 SATA 300 / LAN Gbit./ PCIex16 / 1 PCI / 1 PCIx1

Hard Drive
1Tbyte SATA3.0 7200 rpm Western Digital

Graphics
Intel 3D HD Graphics H55 DirectX10/Shader 4.0 Dual Independent Display

I would like to upgrade it! i dont know my curren power supply, but it works like crap, so i want to change it to. I dont know much about computers, but ive seen Asus Radeon R9 280X 3GB DirectCU II is pretty good for gaming and i would like to be able to play some good FPS like new Battlefield, COD, CS:GO. Should i change the processor too?

What do you think i should do?

It has been a while since I built a PC so I've forgotten everything that you're supposed to know and I'm not up-to-date with the latest and greatest in hardware. However, I can recommend that (if no one here can help you) you go over to Tom's Hardware (http://www.tomshardware.com) and read around there, especially this thread on buying new PC parts (http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/288241-31-buyer-guides-troubleshooting-tips) and this thread on how to ask for advice (http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/353572-31-build-upgrade-advice) on their forum. You can also check out their recommended builds list in this thread (http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/faq/id-1650456/recommended-builds-price.html). You're more likely to get a whole buttload of helpful responses there then you are here purely because Tom's Hardware is dedicated to PC hardware and building custom rigs.

Hope I helped!

Better CPU, more RAM, a better GPU, and I would suggest SSD for the OS and games that load large files (Battlefield for example).

EDIT: i7-4770K, Radeons 290X, minimum 8GB DDR3 (I personally have 16GB 2133MHz CL10), 256GB SSD should be fine.

Thx! when i have time ill take a good look at it, it seems really explicit.

I just built a mini-ITX (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/sQmCgs)

It's so small and cute ;)

But mine is even smaller!!

(and cheaper, and more powerful, and awesomer.)

PS: why are we seeing whose is the smallest?

I'm ignorant on BF4, but 6 cores @ 3.5 GHz should drive quite a bit.

The disk will be a major bottleneck. If you can afford to add an SSD drive it will perform much better. Even a small C disk for windows would give you a huge boost.

Although the latest AMDs have a bunch of cores, the single core performance lags far behind Intel processors, and they (typically) use a whole bunch more power. Even a lot of the latest games can't utilise more than 4 cores. If you're on a budget, it's probably better to go with AMD though, as Intel be pricey.

Yeah, as mayor said regarding the cores... BF4 (iirc) will only utilize a single core for ingame things. But with that gfx card (the generally the real bottle neck), its a 280, which as the GCN or whatever which allows for AMD's Mantle, (basically low level direct hardware access, much like on consoles) so it /can/ get better performance that directx/ogl/whatever.

Also. I hate AMD's cpus as a general whole. Mainly because of their whole quad-core phenoms being sold as 3-core chips 6 or so years ago.
EDIT: http://techreport.com/news/13724/erratum-degrades-phenom-9500-9600-performance

(although, their APUs are pretty budget friendly and make intel HD graphics look like a toaster.

Well then i'll have to add it :) thx

Yes, thats the problem basically, the intel i5 price is waaaay to much for my budget right now... i think im going with AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core since i've seen some videos and it sucks compared to intel i5 but it gets the job done hheh, and its better than AMD Phenom's

I've been reading about Bf4 and the 1 core thing, and yes, that used to be true, but the latest updates have created a lot more compatiblity with AMD processors! I will be more than happy with a min of 40 FPS on mid/high graphics.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/N6DJTW (This is the final build) and i think it will do ok, i added a cheap SSD cause i have 600 dollars only

Yeah that looks decent for a <$600 build.
