I like my cable internet at 3mbs a second. Know why? It costs me nothing. I didnt have the money to pay one month because I was switching jobs. I had them come disconnect till I got more money and guess what. They unhooked an old cable wire that used to run to the house that wasnt even used anymore. When I got it rehooked up when I bought the house they put in a new underground wire which the cable guys failed to disconnect. Thank them for hiring morons.

I wouldn't think so if you were downloading files. I mean your hard drive can only write at a certain speed. IDE/PATA being the slowest. Even with a Raptor you wouldn't be able to download at full speed. So may be overkill?

actually there are quite a few countries that have slower, New Zealand probably being among those, so fuck you NZ :) (Telecom is a phone company that runs a monopoly here and restricts the use of its copper wiring (Yes, old fashioned but they own something like 80% of it) and basically that slows down development ALOT, meaning staggering prices for companies that would have, what would seem like - good deals.) :D

It does seem a bit 'OTT' with the whole 40 gigs but technology is improving all the time and that is just one example of how fast the world is progressing at the moment(A bit too ahead of its time), think of it similar to Graphics cards.
You have the testers constantly testing them and the game developers constantly pushing the boundaries to the point the cards will melt, THEN it's time for a new model to come out :)
And i have a we hunch the military are already on their way to making ultra pin point GPS systems using this kind of stuff, possibly making satalites record videos from the troposphere and beam it back to AP's in Real-Time :sasmokin:

Without server lagg and bussy objects you could get 2 seasons of film worth 15 gig in about 2 hours, which means it finished while you watch the first 4 or 2 episodes. One episode will be downloaded in about 2.8 minutes, double for episodes of an hour each... What's the wait? So 1 gig per second with server lagg and bussy object should give you about the same result. 40gig and a monthly bill of €200,000 according to current prices for 2mbs. NO THANK YOU! :p

4. Overall the fastest hard drive i know which is the raptor 78 gig i believe cannot do that and it spins at an amazing 10,000 RPMs compared to most average hard drives which spin at 7200. Im sure there are hard drives faster then 10k rpms (SCSI) i belive but those cannot handle it either.

Damn Yahoo for taking our wows away. But from what I gather, she has a blinking insane connection. 40 - 50GB/s? I want it.

I don't know what my connection speed is, but looking from my laptop it's saying a measly 54MB/s. OMG, that's about 1,000 times faster than my connection!

Talking about my connection, I better post this before I get disconnected again!
