Hey just a quick question,
When I'm making a script how can i avoid copying others work when there is only so many ways to say write an anti-ban function? I feel like I'm doing math and being told to put 2+2 = 4 in my own words but you can't really say it that many other ways (I aware you could say two plus two more equals four but scar wouldn't understand that)
In one of the tutes it was saying that a script must be your own work, but if I was to write an anti-ban function, I'll surely be copying someone-elses work. I'm learning from the tutes so I only know so far how to write the function as they do.
Any help would be much apreciated :D , Yes before someone asks I've been searching for the answer already.

You can USE some of their work as long as they allow you and you credit them.

Well with antiban procedures, it wouldn't really be called copying because most anti ban procedures are almost the same. What they really mean with the script must be your own work is that you can't just go copy a script then add your name to it.

Yeah, dont worry about antiban and like that, but for example if RadialWalk wasnt in SRL and it would be someone lets say nielsie's function, you couldnt use it without nielsies permission :)

In writing, "the question" is not plagiarism. But "To be or not to be, that is the question." is. Same deal with scripting.

Well, you can't really test your antiban until the update is done... But whatever.

I can only speak for myself, but on behalve of the Open Source Community you are free to use our code anywhere in your SCAR scripts, as long as you credit me in the header of the Function. You may not however use it for a commercial purpose without the written permission of the Author. But thats all pretty standard stuff, reasonable and fair.

Cheers for that guys, that really clears up what I was wondering about :)
From what i now understand I can include functions from the SRL but if it was say Nelsies functions I'd have to credit him for it :)
Just wanted to clear that up to make sure I didn't push anyone angry buttons, be dissapointing to make a scripts and have it tainted through plagarism.
Cheers,
p.s. Yes I know I'll have to wait til after update, I'm in no hurry :p
