Well, all I really want is the BG cleared up. :) Its hard for me to do it in GIMP, and I can't put a pirated Photoshop on this computer. Shurly for a graphics master it will be no challenge.

I'm not requesting a sig, :p.

Feel free to just do one of them as the last one is mostly all white... No magic wand! :p.

In those dark parts, its hard to tell if an area is part of the robot or a shadow... but:

Here is the 2nd one:

and the 3rd one:

and the 4th one (this one was easy, magic selector on tolerance 1 for the whole things):

I think it's possible in SCAR. (if converted to bmp)

I doubt it, because the background (for those images) is a gradient with shadows on it, not a solid color, so transparency functions wouldn't work. I don't know of any image analyzing program powerful enough to be able to select a background like that and make it a solid color. Photoshop's Magic Select tool is the closest I've seen, but even with that, you have to work with the tolerance for different sections of the image.

Why no magic wand?

Magic wand with 50 tolerance did perfect job for me today.

Sometimes, when the colors between background and image blend together, (2nd link especially), Magic Wand selecting selects too much into the image or not enough. It usually isn't a big deal, and of course you can play with the tolerance, but in the end, you can tell that there are bits of the edge of the image that look crappy/pixelated. If you have a backround that is solid/close to solid, I agree that Magic Wand is the solution.

i hate doing this, allot

it pisses me off...

im going to do it.. you may find mine are a higher quality, who knows/..

i do know that magic wand, set tolerance to one. does NOT work and looks like crap. try putting it on a green back gorund or something 9.9

Save it as an interlaced png with no background :-\
