A few words can state my opinion about Vista, I won't go anywhere near it until about a year and a half until the 2nd service-pack comes out.
I spoke to a few people about Vista and one guy's like "it's shit dude, really shit I downloaded the BETA, sheesh disgusting", and I said.. typically because it's the BETA dumbass.

Post you're opinions about vista and what troubles or likes about Vista.

NEVEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRR spend your money on vista(Or time to download it lol)! It takes up so much memory, that even on machines with 1gb RAM, it can be very slow. XP is much better.

After XP, I'm getting linux(And VMs with win2k or xp to run SCAR xD).

VISTA = SHIT

dont listen to all these rumors about vista. i have a laptop toshiba 2g ram vista and it works better then my alienware computer. Vista has 1 problem tho, that it asks u for a lot of "please approve this from administrator" stuff. otherwise it works better then regular

my other com is vista. It really REALLY REALLY REALLY SUCKS!
seriously its actually harder to use compared to XP, or maybe cause I'm just not used to it. and loads of my apps cant be installed in vista. I guess vista will be useful nxt time... but for now better to stick with xp.

Well, With Cheapy crap computers will work like shit.... Otherwise good...

I found that Vista installation is faster, Start up is faster better user interface... I dont get any lags or crashes...

If you have nice system it shudnt be a prob, one prob is that not all software is compatible with it... but most are now...

My Specs are
3.8Ghz Duel Core P4
2gb Ram

Runs smooth and sweet... Plus i got vista ultimate activated!! Im enjoying bonuses For free :p

I don't think there's gonna be a Vista service pack. Not from what I've heard.

I heard that Microsoft's gonna try to release 'Windows 7' in about a year or so.

They are already working on a new version of Windows, because Vista pretty much flopped. Too much extra security, strain on your computer, etc. Everyone who gets it pretty much starts to hate it very quickly.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7 for more info on it. Hopefully it isn't another vista or I may have to stick with XP for a long time :(

Vista is horrible I have family that got me a free non-pirated copy of Vista Ultimate and I am still using XP Pro even though I am not going to lie I think MACs are a lot easier to use I am still on the PC but when it comes to Microsoft Vista is a no at this point in the game it looks sweet that is the main plus to me but all the extra security settings are just a pain and there are quite a few other issues I have with it but we will see where it goes in the future

I tried Vista to play halo2 when it came out (both pirated, of course) and it was so laggy on my machine it wasn't even playable. Later I got a hack that allowed halo 2 to be played on XP and it works fine.

But for an every day OS, linux is the way to go, and now that I've gotten CS:S to run under linux I no longer have a need to boot into XP.

vista is really nice, just make sure u have at least 1gb of memory

only problem is the compatibility problems- just run in compatability mode(sometimes that doesnt work)

VISTA....wow...well....it works alright if you got a good comp, its totally designed to run on higher end systems. My family got a new comp with vista on it...and it was slow as hell!!! but then my little bro saved up and paid for the parts to upgrade it (way better vid card geforce 8600GTS, and another 2 gigs of ram so 3 gigs total) and after that...WOW! it was running great! all his games looked amazing and the windows just popped up like nothing! but I still dont like vista.....XP all the way, plus friends' laptops with vista suckzorz :(
Anyway, here's the specs on his Vista comp that worked well:

3.0GHz dual core AMD
3 gig ram (DDR2 of course)
NVidia Geforce 8600GTS w/ 512 GDDR3 ram
