Ive looked and they are hard to find, even if you find one, you have to load in the java etc. And i wouldnt download swift switch. Youd have to do it every time you play there, and you can get in trouble for installing stuff, well at my school at least.

sad but true. people who play rs are looked down upon now.
i also agree that most schools arent technologically savvy enough to block every proxy site, even if most of us here could.

If you look around there are web browsers that have an inbuilt proxy. My school blocks damn near everything so even my tecaher asked me for one however i cannot remember a name off hand it's on my jump drive.

I was told if you put the runescape URL into Adobe Reader or something and put on your USB and go to school run the Adobe file and the runescape home page shows up.

Most things probably most work. At my school they just completely remove Java so you can't do ANYTHING using it. Its really annoyin cause even buttons on photobucket and stuff dont work :f:

ok guys, i'll end this once and for all. NO proxy besides socks5 can play runescape, since it changes your ip address, and Runescape can block IP, and any reliable and good socks5 proxy either costs money or is a pain in the ass to configure. Look for a socks5 tutorial on google, and i think there's one in the tutorial section here. Stop posting random proxies when people ask for help, it doesn't work...
If anyone really wants to play runescape at school, PM me and i'll help you out.

haha, like the windows warning message...
Working on a proxy is your best bet, other than that id use a flash drive instead of a floppy to sneak programs onto your school computers... my friends and i managed to get unreal tourney installed on the schools main server and we could all play in tournaments during class... the good ol days... just don't store to the computer your assigned to that is obvious put it on the main server if you can...

why dont you just hack the school system by booting up one of the computers, and crack the system admins password with an oph crack or something....then make yourself and admin account, or just didable the firewall so your whole school can play RS :P
(BUT BEWARE...I DID THAT IN 8TH GRADE...NOT FOR RS, (I DELETED EVERY USERS DOCUMENTS AND CHANGED ALL OF THE PASSWORDS) AND I GOT SUSPENDED FROM SCHOOL FOR 3 DAYS)
SO BEWARE..................

seeing as how this forum is dedicated to autoing.... i think the best solution is to auto while you are at school and use the extra free time to study/do homework?
that's what I started doing, and it's working out great! :)
but in all seriousness you could prolly just bring a laptop and connect to your schools wireless signal, i do it all the time because the computers in my library were built in the 1980s and go -2 mph when trying to do something

Load firefox onto a jump drive. Run it from the jump drive, use a SOCKS5 proxy in firefox.

Well, if you want something cheaper than a proxy, you could always make your own proxy (off of your home computer) and just go to it through your school. This isn't for the lightly technical minded though (or the 56kers).

Lol you could try vnc stuff linking to your home computers. (Controlling the home computer desktop and playing runescape on your house computer technically.)

I was wondering if there was a way to use java without dling anything... When proxys weren't banned, you couldn't get into rs cos there was no java, so even if I find a working proxy, it won't work.

just skip school and go home and play because if you are playing runescape during school there really isn't a point of going

Erm, I play during computers and maybe lunchtime, so there is a point, and that didn't help me at all.
dude don't play at school because just set up autoing before you leave its much easier!thats the smart thing to do

It is most likely impossible due to the fact most schools would firewall port 43594, which runescape uses. There is usually no way to get around the firewall protection...

At our school it always seems to be that they have blocked java if you could find one which works on something else (unlikely) then i think it would be fine ^_^!

Google -> Portable Apps -> Firefox. Bam. You can now run Firefox off a USB thumbdrive, and use it to access any site off your school. Just download the portable version of Firefox to your thumbdrive, and install it. At least, this is how I did it at my school, because they simply installed 'Symantec Block Filters' into Internet Explorer. This portable version of Firefox doesn't install anything to the registry or any hidden files on the computer, so you can run it off the USB device, thus remaining hidden from the school tech department and whatnot. But as previously stated, just wait 'til you're out of school ;p runescape isn't that good....I mean, by god, those last updates near ruined it. Still worth playing, but that's a matter of opinion. If you want to try this, it should work. I doubt that the Official RS client will work, since it uses the core of Internet Explorer. Maybe SCSS will work, since it directly uploads the worlds (like http://me5.runescape.com/p0 [that's world 10 btw]) but I'm not sure.

This will work on more than one site at home get the www.whatever.com address of the world you want to use then open up your run window type in
CMD
click run
after your command prompt window opens type ping www.aboveadressyoufound.com and hit enter
it gives you the direct IP that will bypass alot of times

Why not just wait till you get home,
Its only 8 hours of your life gone:rolleyes:
any way back to the point, can you just find the router number of the school and just put that on your computer and use myspace and runescape.
Ask around school

I must agree to several of the others that said to just not play it at school. There is a time and place for everything. Best help I can give is to find the IP to the server you wish to connect to then create a simple .exe to Launch IE or FF connected to that IP. A simple URL might even work, and if necessary go through a proxy or through your home PC, as others suggested.
I, too, have tried to play RuneScape at my school. It didnt work, but this was back when I was in middle school and didn't know a significant amount about computers.
Now, however, my school district is getting to be rediculus about what they're blocking. For a while the authorities were trying to convince the Students' Parents to block all social networking websites like MySpace, FaceBook, Etc. Claiming that they are "dangerous".
