Hello from Finland! Its beautiful night 1 am and crispy -5*C outside here so I'll write this up quickly to get to bed under warm coverlet!
Ok I have 2 pc's, I'm using at the moment only one, the main computer with enough power and other stuff to keep scar running in Virtual Machine.
Ok my problem is this:
My main pc is keeping a hell of a noise, like a ...vacuum cleaner. Yes sounds stupid, but it really is. And ofcourse the pc is next to my bed so it is almost unpossible to sleep while computer is running!
So I talked about 2 pc's over there.
The other PC is like second pc in my life or so. HP Brio B4A10 or something like that.
800 mhz and so on.
Well I installed legit windows xp and so on (whoops had a little white lie there, TinyXP Beast edition ) and I tryed to use scar on it. Well sadly runescape lags like a fag. I have updated java, and I believe I have right driver for my grpahic gard and running on 800x600 resolution (32bit true colors ofcoure)
I'm using regular client, the one from the jagex site.
Also there is running, AVG, Firewall, Spysearch or something like that.
You guys have any suggestion how to get it to work propely? :garfield:
Regards, Jonne

well, my suggestion would be to replace the power supply in the computer that makes lots of noise. If runescape runs slowly on TinyXP, then you probably won't be able to run it. The only thing I could think of is to upgrade the memory, if that doesn't work, then I think you're out of luck.

Well first on the noise issue. Check all of your fans to make sure there isn't anything hitting them. (may be dangerous and noisy!)
Power on the PC and stop each fan for a quick second and try to narrow which fan is making the noise. Replace that fan.
If no fans are making the noise, check to see if the noise is coming from the power supply.
Get a new power supply if it is.
800mhz is enough to run RS. Maybe even a light simple script.
Try finding a cheap stick of RAM (ebay is your friend) and try it. If that does not work, I don't know what to tell you.
Hopefully this helps.

In that computer is already bought little more ram memory, now if I remember right there is 133 ram or something like that. Or was it 233 don't remember :)
I have tried to shut down all fans, they aren't making really much noise.
When I get more money, ill try to find out new power supply.
Thanks for advices!

on your other computer go to task manager close all the tasks but not the tasks
who rune tiny xp and not scar and rs and then it should work.... and use signed rs client!

Yes you don't need all that spysearch stuff. Just keep one firewall and one anti-virus running and you should be fine, if you don't visit nasty sites.
Also check your taskmanager to see how much mem some processes take up... and do you use ff or ie to play?
FF can take a hunk of memory (especially if you've got too many addons installed)
or you can do the "right click -> set priority to very high" and see how that works out.

Hi, good to see new Finnish people, plus someone who has pretty good grammar, umm Im not sure will it get in fire, but I think if you could somehow cover it with some cloth it would be a little more quiet.

I will probably be repeating several things but:
-Close everything except for rs client and scar. With rs client priority on realtime. You don't need AVG, spysearch or anything when you auto.
-You probably need more ram than 233 or it may not be able to use some scripts or solve some randoms (i.e. box)
-For the noise, used compressed air to clean the fans of any dust. Even if it isn't the main source of noise, it still lessens it.
You shouldn't really go out and buy a power supply just for autoing unless it is incredibly loud. Several other options could consist of muffling the noise, but it shouldn't be so bad you need to do everything possible to lessen the noise.

Ill try these all advices you gave here! Thanks a lot for help pals.
I'm mayby going to upgrade my computer soon so I will buy better power supplyer and other stuff like that.
And for the cloth to cover computer. It isn't very wise, then fans can't cool it down and it will overheat.
There is anyway sold those silencer mats.
To bed now! Good night all!

your fan[s] might be clogged with dust or your computer might be over heating...

Usually what makes noise on my computer is the hard disk (how would a power supply make noise?) and fan. If you have dial-up (phone line connection) that might be a problem when it needs to refresh data.
For you, my Finnish friend, I would suggest taking a packaging box (that leaves lots of room for the computer, try about 6 inches, err... 12cm, extra space) and tape egg cartons on the inside facing the computer. You might then wish to cover that with a few blankets, or put another box with egg cartons over the first. You should put padding around the cord to keep sound from escaping.
EDIT: Don't take this as an insult -
Hello from Finland! Its a beautiful night, 1 am and a crispy -5*C outside of here so I'll write this up quickly so I can go to bed under warm coverlet (the noun coverlet is not generally used in American english)!
Ok, so I have 2 pc's, and I'm using at the moment only one of them, the main computer with enough power and other stuff to keep scar running on Virtual Machine.
Ok, this is my problem:
My main pc is making a hell of a noise, like a ...vacuum cleaner. Yes, it sounds stupid, but it really is. And of course the pc is next to my bed so it is almost impossible (Not many English adjectives start with un) to sleep while computer is running!
So I had mentioned 2 PCs.
The other PC is like the second in my life or so. HP Brio B4A10 or something like that, 800MHz and so on.
Well I installed a legit Windows XP (no matter how much you hate Microsoft, capitalize it) and so on (whoops had a little white lie there, TinyXP Beast edition ) and I tried to use scar on it. Well sadly runescape lags like a fag. I have(I've) updated Java, and I believe I have (the, a) right driver for my graphics card, and I am running on 800x600 resolution (32bit true colors ofcoure)

Odd how changing one thing in english has an avalanche effect. (see last sentence). Congratulations, it seems you've gotten your point through more clearly than n3ss3s sometimes does.
