Yup, you're BIOS needs to support it just like the USB thingy.
Tut bout XP at USB: http://www.ngine.de/index.jsp?pageid=4176

TinyXP should work, many Linux distro's offer the possibility

i know that linux has always been able to boot from just about anyhting you can shove into anything. (like a random moded xbox control, etc)

so yeah, linux can boost from floppy, usb, cd, hd , whatever your bios will let you try.

I also know there is a MAC os on a stick to... but thats just icky. I remeber mabey a windows 3.1 if your really crazy too...

Oh, and dont get me started on portable apps, :P i just istalled over 230 programs on mine XD

Google DSL aka DamnSmallLinux, it is not that hard to install and takes about 50 mb disk space! :)

You can always get in trouble for doing stuff that you shouldnt on the computers. My teacher brought Helix (linux based OS(probably illegal one)) to my class, and he showed it to us :D He told us that we were not allowed to do that, but he did it anyways.
