It'd be great to have the newest srl compiled into a rar. Some computers don't have admin rights to install subversion :( Like me atm. It's a suggestion, I think this is the best section to post, didn't see a suggestion place :/

Yes, this is a good idea. Even though I use subversion on my computer, it would be a good idea for other people, since it may be kinda hard to learn SRL from a non-functioning SRL :p
It's just that it would be a clutter if there are many that come out at once.


If you want my opinion...

Release these revisions as full releases (4.01, 4.02 etc.) and keep the subversion for in-between updates (possibly non-functional, or partially functional) for people who want to be on the bleeding edge. As far as I know, SVN supports partial commits.

I realized, if you don't have admin rights, you don't have rights to edit the program file to place srl in it anyway..

Its not a good idea. As it is the best it has been.

You setup SCAR correctly, and you can instantly download the latest revision and stay updated.

No need for self installers.

To be honest, if you cant follow the guide for it to work then you've got no chance

lol what am i smoking? what are you smoking...its called PARENTS!! his parents could easily have set it up to where accounts with only admin rights have the ability to install programs or able to allow access to certain things...i know with vista you have unlimited amount of capabilities on access rights

But wouldn't that completely defeat the purpose of releasing via svn in the first place?

srl compiled into a rar lol, he wants it in rar format.. Look at the thread title!. Wether or not the SVN doesn't work, it still the fact of he wants it in rar.

He didn't say anything about parents, if so tell them to install it, or just retrieve the admin password and do it yourself.

Quit the fighting. At the time, I did not have admin rights to install subversion, to get the latest srl. I wanted to bring up that srl should come in a rar file, as it was before subversion, for the people that can't install subversion. I then figured out that if you don't have rights to install a program, you prob. don't have rights to edit the program file.:p

use ophcrack and hack your computer to get an account with admin rights :google: (for educational purposes only DONT HACK ITS BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH lol)
