Website blocking. Proxys??

Ok. At work website blocking is ridiculous. Eg. The other day I searched a picture of an apple (just to see if it would be blocked) and it was! Almost everything is blocked....That includes SRL Forum, myspace, runescape and ebuddy. They don't let us have any fun on the computers.

They also block the proxy sites so you cant get to them. I was wondering if anyone knows a way around website blocks?? I have tried putting together my own proxy to use but they block all sites made with free hosts. Does anyone have a kind of private proxy I can use? Or mabey know any way around these blocks. By the way, we have to log into their proxy server where the websites are blocked in there.

My school is just like this: any webpage that has word proxy on it, or anything related to an exe is blocked. My school sucks :)

Mine is exactly the same as Hy71194. They block keyword's with games, proxie's etc. And they block some Proxy entries in the HTML code too: Like Remove Ads or something.

IS THERE ANYWAY AROUND THIS????

I like all the proxy sites, but they block all the big proxy sites at school. The only 3 possible solutions are either making my own proxy server (I doubt it!), Getting a proxy exe(mabey??) or doing what hy71194 suggested which was doing work!

well to me it would sound easier if your workplace only allowed certain sites and block the rest.

lol i got sick of the stuff as well :p I got a wireless card and connected to my phone service at school for internet.

I got an idea :p get the admins user and pass to the proxy... or maybe a maintenance guys user and pass bet you could a) reset your act settings to have the sites you want b) use their act to get on everything.

Eventually all the web proxies will be banned (becaused too many people visit it at once... and obviously the school/workplace will notice that!)

It is best to make a proxy yourself and host it (may be lock it with a password so only you can go on it) and BTW proxies can now be made/hosted by nearly anyone (even if you aren't good at PHP). and this means theres a lower chance of the proxy you use getting blocked.

Mmy school is exactly same we found out if you use a proxy site with more then 35 characters the schools firewall does not block that particular html proxy, use this: www.samueljones.christletonradio.co.uk/mkportal/proxy

works everytime, they cant block acess to this site because it is provately owned by a third party participle, if they do they are breaching the internet privacy act 1997 :P have fun!

My school is just sad,
There are no blocked websites can go to youtube and myspace and whatever but there are people patrolling around. Usually they only tell me to get off and let someone else on :D

Good point m8... You only get a max of 2 hours everyday at school anyway!
And then you get your mind involved into RS at school (then the process starts!). You get bad grades then you decide to Leave SRL/SCAR.

To prevent all this... yeah it is good to not play RS at school... I think! :)
