A solution to the problem where SCAR stops working after some time of macroing

Have your macros ever stopped for no reason at all? I've got a possible solution for you!

SCAR has stopped maaany times on my pc and I've wondered why it has happened. Then I realized it was the damn adverts on the top of the screen! When they re-load/load another ad, they screw up SCAR's focus to the client(In other words scar doesn't find the RS-screen anymore).

There are 3 ways to block them completely(Scrolling down so you can't see the ad won't help, it loads it anyway):

Get Ad-Blocker Plus on Firefox or Ad Block for IE
Use SCSS
Use ScarScape


How do I get any of those?

Ad-Blocker Plus: FireFox is required to install. After installing go to a f2p world in rs, then right click right next to the ad, then select block iframe. Then the ad disappears.

Ad Block: This is an ad blocker for Internet Explorer. Download and install this, I haven't tested it myself because I use FireFox, which is about million times better than IE.

SCSS(Shit Compared to ScarScape): You can find it in your SCAR directory (Scar 3.13/includes/srl/scss)

ScarScape: A h4xx0red client where the map doesn't rotate by itself and the colors dont change + no ads. I personally don't like using this unless the script is designed to work with it only. NOTE! If you use SS, you MUST delete random.dat and uid.dat after every macroing session. If you don't know how to do it, don't use SS.

ScarScape is a modified RS-client. It has both fixed minimap and colors(colors are always the same and the minimap is always pointing directly to north).

It SHOULD be undetectable, but I don't use it anyway... I'm fine with the normal client + adblock.

There are many other cilents like EliteSwitch, SwiftSwitch, and tons of others I can't think of right now that can do the same thing. Also you might just be able to right click and check "Play" and "Loop" and "Low Detail" I think that would work.

erm ossmm or wateva ya name is scarscape is difrrent to switch switch and stuff it was made for scripting, no color changing and stuff.

or you could use 127.0.0.1 at your hosts file. That uses a lot less RAM than those other methods

Go to your hosts file

Add

127.0.0.1 *ad*

This will make all adresses with "ad" inside them go to 127.0.0.1, which is essentially your own computer
