View Full Version : Solution for VISTA users using Subversion

Vista has an annoying quirk that protects all files in the Program Files directory. So, if you try to checkout into a C:\Program Files\SCAR 3.13 directory, it will do crazy stuff like give you errors or copy the files to some other weird folder they don't belong.

The easy solution is to install SCAR OUTSIDE the Program Files directory!

I got the Could Not Move Plugins error after installing to C:\Program Files\SCAR 3.13. After I uninstalled there and re-installed in C:\SCAR 3.13 it worked perfectly.

Try it out if you're using the Microsoft VISTA operating system and having problems.

Or unprotect the program files folder? Or does Vista not allow you to do that?

You can turn your User Account Control(UAC) off, and it should stop that from happening...

UAC= the thing that asks you whether or not you want to do X thing, and the noobs at Microsoft decided to put it on like 75% of all things w/ your computer -.-

Or you could just right click the Scar icon and press "Run as Administer"

Then it will also work.

go to the properties (right-click) on the scar icon and check 'Run As Administrator' and that will fix the issue also, you'll be able to move plugins that way too

I was looking at an article on Solid State hard drives, and it said that someone tried to install Vista on a 64 Gb SSD. It installed fine, but as soon as they booted it up, it immediately started flashing warnings about running out of hard drive space. LOL!

Man, this op sucks more than I thought.

Ummm as always restart your computer for better results and disabling UAC is much better!!!! then 'Run As Admin.' thing and even when UAC is off click run as admin works great...I have Vista is should know that Vista beats Xp the whole way when it comes to style and Aero design..But system satisfaction on Vista is like 1/1000 because of all the bugs...Microsoft should have waited and fixed these common errors instead of releasing it ..Aero pwns Xp so those Windows Blinds and it is like Vista witout errors.
