You have came to this thread obviously because SCAR is not working on your system. So, here is how to get it working.

Here are some steps to take into running SCAR on Vista:
Right Click SCAR's icon shortcut.
Click on Properties.
Click the Compatibility tab.
Select the compatibility mode to Windows XP.

If that does not work, try this:
Click on the START menu button.
Find and click on Control Panel.
Find and click on Programs.
Click on Use an older program with this version of Windows.
Follow the instructions directed by the Wizard.

And if that does not work, try this one (Originally posted by WhoCares357):
Go to the Control Panel. (Make sure Control Panel Home is bolded on the left)
Click on User Accounts and Family Safety (top right).
Click on User Accounts (top).
Click on Turn User Account Control on or off (bottom).
Uncheck the box besides "User User Account Control..."
Click OK.
Restart the computer if required.

After doing these methods, you might get the Windows Security Alert, just press Continue and you'll be fine.

After doing those, Hopefully SCAR will work on your system.

Also if you have ZoneAlarm on your system as well it might block SCAR. Here is how to unblock it.
Open ZoneAlarm via the Tray Icon.
Go to Program Control and select the Programs tab.
Find "scar.exe" and change it's trust level to Super.
Have a green tick in each of boxes so SCAR has any right to access the internet.
Close ZoneAlarm.

If none of those steps above work, check out these threads below:

Enjoy ;)

Most problems occur because of the User Account Control. You can disable it if you're the admin on the computer.

1. Go to the Control Panel. (Make sure Control Panel Home is bolded on the left)
2. Click on User Accounts and Family Safety (top right).
3. Click on User Accounts (top).
4. Click on Turn User Account Control on or off (bottom).
5. Uncheck the box besides "User User Account Control..."
6. Click OK.
7. Restart the computer.

You might get that little "Windows Security Alerts" icon on the bottom. It will tell you that you should turn your User Account Control on. Just ignore it.

You're done!

Dunno, probably the way some programs are coded and Vista can't recognise it.

Not necessarily. In some programs, there are compatibility issues which require something other than the Run as Administrator command ;)

I personally hate vista. Sure it looks pretty and w/e but you cant run anything on it. Half the stuff out there right now isnt compatible to it. I can't use the USB's I have with it. But I think the most annoying thing is that it asks you permision for everything...

Great advice - I hated the little alert telling me that my security settings needed fixing so I just turned off the alert in Control Panel/ Security. Hope that helps :)

Please do not gravedig nor post without using the search button which is all the way to the top ^

This would help you: http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47714

Seems to me that he isn't gravedigging, he's asking for help on the appropriate thread. Guide threads like these shouldnt really matter if they're brought back up because if someone needs help, it should be there. Also your link has no relation to his problem whatsoever, thus you're a dink.

Yeah, the link I posted doesn't really relate to his problem at all, but if he follows it correctly, then he can use the script, which is after all, exactly what he wants to do

Hmm. I thought this thread was a tutorial. It should be in the tutorial section, though i suppose it makes sense that it's here because the help section will probably be the first place a new person would go.

That's the only problem I see, tbh. While I prefer Simba, there's no reason he can't use SCAR, I don't think?

@Thread. SCAR is now delphi 2010, so it's compatible with win7/vista

@w000t cat here is a link to setting up SCAR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaz0LKAdDN0 here is a link to setting up simba http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47714 I recommend you try/use both to see which one fits your purpose better.

@Everyone else, please let the thread die or lock it.
