need help with an auth key...

Well, first of all: Hi,
I created this "Little" script which I wanna sell (obviously gonna use a different forum), but I was wondering how do I check if really only one person uses it? I heard something about an auth key before, but never got any more information... is it possible for example that the script will connect to the internet, check if the IP matches one which is allowed, but also hides the code, or incrypt it, so that someone with decent programming knowledge can't just change it?
I had no ídea where else to post it, so I just decided to do it here. if this is in anyway against the rules, feel free to delete this topic, but please do not flame! This is not a topic for some people to raise their post count, and I really don't wanna hear any wild speculations please, but percise hints, instructions, and gelp. Thank you.

Yeah, this was the wrong place. Should've been put into Scripting Help, but anyway.

Try asking Sumilion as he has a good working authorisation system.
