Ok well i had a problem with smart turning off my computer after like 10mins of autoing. So i decided that i would try and use scar alone but my computer still turns off for some weird reason that i'm not sure of.

scan for a trojan or virus you probully have one or the other. to fix that all u need to do is back up ur files and clear your hardbdrive

yeah you probably have a trojan, and when scar trys to access a certain file it shuts your pc down. Had one like that before. Try 'Vundo Fix' worked for me.

Go download hijack this and post a log file on this thread.
And just wondering, is the Scar Resource Library FAQ section really the right one for this?

Well, there may be several other reason why it turns off.

Is it instant shut down when like power wents out or operation system shut down?

I did a scan with norton never found anything and also i just turns off like some one took out the power.

I was checking out the event viewer for windows and i noticed every time i got a error symbol like every timed it crashed i got like a ati2mg which has to do with my graphics card so im going to try and get the error again just to make sure that is it

I'd say it's likely you have a hardware fault rather than a software one. Try checking your RAM for errors with memtest (http://www.memtest86.com/download.html) or something similar. An overheating CPU can also cause you're PC to shut down but your motherboard will usually give you a warning via the system speaker first, if it's enabled.

FIgured it out it was overheating but i don't know how im going to get it to stop all my fans are working properly atm and it only over heats when playing runescape/games that make my cpu% but with the case open i have been running an auto and it has been running for an hour now

If it's a laptop, just prop it up on something. If it's a desktop, then something might need to be checked... I don't know much at all about the physical parts of computers, but that wouldn't seem right to me.

Try downloading a program like SpeedFan (http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php) which will allow you to monitor the temperatures of things like your processor as well as all your fan speeds.

Google your processor model to try and find out the normal operating temperatures when idle and under load. When you have those check your idle temp then run an application that usually makes your computer turn off and see how it compares.

It's possible that the temperature sensor in your processor is no longer working meaning that as your processor heats up the fan isn't speeding up accordingly. You may also have a faulty fan or it may be incorrectly attached.

This does seem like a memory problem rather to being malware, although, malware can cause memory failure by constant updating/saving but what i think it is that your power supply cannot handle your graphics card thus causing shutdown due to power failure.

let me guess your computer is crap 3-4 years old or you have a lot of porno on it scar produces Virtual Memory it exceeds the memory usage computer shuts down BTW this is a good thing because if it didn't shut down your computer would probably Blow up

Nite Elf: I would look into your case to see if you find excessive amounts of dust. I have had clients PC's where they are so clogged with dust they will overheat. Even with all the fans working properly.

If it is full of dust, take a can of compressed air or a compressor (just don't go at a very high PSI and do not allow the fans to catch the air movement and spin fast, it can easily cause the bearings to wear quickly, or become off balance and start to rattle.) and blow all the dust out of it. You shouldn't have to remove anything from the case, besides the side panel to do this.

Post back your results.
