I'm not sure, but wouldn't it work if you just went to (These directions won't be exactly right, I'm on Vista) Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Manage Network connections > right click your connection, properties > IP version 4 > and then just change the IP?

There called static for a reason ;).
Heres what you should do: Contact your internet provider, about switching to a dynamic ip. From my knowledge, static Ip's are more then the dynamic Ip's. So don't be surprised if your bill drops.

Depending on your ISP, if they allow you to renew your IP addys (sometimes they give you a limit on how many you can have), you type in something like
ipconfig -release
to delete your old IP, then
ipconfig -renew
but it's been years since I read about that so don't trust that code exactly (and it might not work)... otherwise you'll want to speak to your ISp and give them a decent reason why :P (or they might sell you another one or something)

I used this site for when i was making quake 3 servers.
Hope it helps

That "works", but has always given me the same IP
Nowadays I have a dynamic one...
This (http://livingwithstyle.com/184750-how-change-your-static-ip.html) should help. Good luck...
Use portforward (Nauman's link). The big thing is getting the right user name and password for your router / for this site: http://192.168.1.1/. Once you get in that it is really easy. You can change your static IP and subnet mask.

You canNOT change your static ip. Your internet will mess up. Remember its called static for a reason. You internet service provider gives you, your ip. Static ip's are you usually used for big companies and stuff. And they do charge an extra price for a static ip from my knowledge.

http://192.168.1.1/ or
http://192.168.1.2/ are used to connect to your router.

Wow thanks for all the help. We have a static IP because I live in the middle of nowhere and am kinda lucky to have internet even though my ISP is really weird...I'll go through the posts in order:
@1337. I have tried this multiple times with no avail...
@NaumanAkhlaQ Isn't that changing from dynamic to static ... plus I'm kinda confused:)
@n3ss3s Yah I'm kinda confused...
@osmm I do my own router and crap but I did it different...We have 1 internet line coming into the house which goes in Router A.It comes out wireless and one wire comes to Router B(My router). It comes out wireless and wired to my PC and 360... So my IP address is different that Router A(192.168.1.1). Router B is 192.168.0.1

Download linux, burn to cd, uninstall windows, and learn how to change your ip using a proxy server. Can be done in windows but who wants to use gimp windows os's? heh.

If you use FF you could download the switchproxy extension, fetch a list of proxies and use a random proxy ip. Of course, that would only work on HTTP (NOT FTP, Counter-Strike, ect)

Palm, if you are looking to change your ip temporarily, then it is possible.
If you want to change your ip to something different then you have to contact your ISP.
This is how I do it:
I go to my router's homepage.
Go To WAN Settings.
I have my ip set as a static.
I change the last part of the ip (if xxx.xxx.xxx.yyy only change the yyy part.)
Pick okay. Wait about a min for router to reregister ip. Changed.
