What is Rep For?

Just wondering. Im getting repped daily now, and wondered if Rep was used for anything more then feeling warm when someone tells you you got repped for being helpful :D

I think if you get enough rep you get the rank of useful posts? I'm not sure though.. There is a tut on ranks somewhere.. might say there. :)

What he meant by that is they no real use. Like bob said, you used to get into members through rep. That part of the rep system is disabled you get no ranking or advantage from it. And no, the useful poster does not come from rep. The only thing i guess you can "receive" from rep is getting another little green square under your name... Like Starblaster or nielsie, except nielsie's was edited. Every 100 rep points you get another box.

Thats the same with 3/5 of my tuts, I have I think 300 views on my basic one and like 12 replies, all of which were members who already knew it...

The only one that I got good was my one with the SRL ranks and cups.

You will be noticed if you write a really unique tutorial for beginners or something

I guessies, I just find some people have been getting the tut writers cup like striaght off for writing just 1 tut, probably wrote it at the perfect time so a mod/admin noticed :p

I should try getting another cup :) I have my own thread which I wrote about cups and ranks so I can refer to that lol

Well, it might not take that long, just a tut covering all the basic functions and explaining how to use them, I'm starting working on it now.

1) You can still give it and receive it as you please
2) Rep no longer has any affect on permissions or anything else except for that little green box near your name
