1. Please only post once.

2. You are not changing file Extentions, you are enabling known file extensions to be viewed in windows explorer. So no changes to the files are actually being made.

The title is misleading. I thought this tutorial was on how to change your file extension (which is really just renaming anyway...) This tutorial needs pictures and more detail. Even though I know how to unhide the file extensions, your explanation confused me.

This needs some work.

The correct way to do it is to go to Control Panel (on Vista). If it's in the default view (Control Panel Home) Appearance and Personalization. Then you click Folder Options. Under the View tab uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types".

If it's in Classic View (or if you're using XP) then go to Control Panel (in Classic View). Double click on Folder Options and follow the instructions above. (Go to the View tab and uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types".

There is a flaw in your "Mini Tut", you tell the reader to click hide file type extension of known file types, and then you say it will show the extension, when it exactly doesn't.

If you get pissed enough for needing to type *'s and speak that kind of English, go out have some fresh air...

Some file extensions will not work, because somethimes some things need to be changed in the file. Search google on file extensions changer online, you need nothing to download etc..
