Virus help!!! Seriously!!

I need help removing a boot system virus.

So this is what happens.. when i boot up my computer it says "failed to boot, something was changed when trying to boot, this may be due to software or memory corruption"

Also, when i press f2 to try to fix the problem, they put a password on my system prefrences or whatever it is when you press f2.


So i was wondering if I need to crawl through my garage to find my XP Cd. Or is there another way to fix the problem

maybe but i doubt it looks like you'll need to find xp disc or get a copy of it or something

Odds are that you are going to have to reinstall XP if a virus is already that deep into your system. Unfortunatly XP does not have a Startup Repair built in to the CD although you may want to try starting in safe mode to get your virus scanner to find it.

You can use System restore, restore your computer to factory shipped image (How it was when it was shipped)
