i dont think this will work for all videos since some of them videos are encoded.
i perfer the old fashion youtube ripper :D

i always use

to download it then just use any program that can convert FLV to AVI and then afterwards just use video editing software to take what u want

For all the video's I wanted, I used this and never seen a problem.
And @ 031247
With this program you don't need any other video editing or w/e. You can convert it in a matter of seconds when you've just downloaded the video.

To be honest, I just use Firebug to get the link to the .flv file, and DL through the browser... Then convert it with VLC/AviDemux/MediaCoder. (Although, VLC tends to produce rather large files, and MediaCoder sucks air in WINE. AviDemux, under a custom compile, can have support for Flash Video Files.)

"Windows only :)," says the Linux fanboy.
And it probably is too much work, but it lets me do whatever I want to the file. (Rip the audio, DL multiple videos and combine them, etc... I can also choose what video/audio codecs I want.)

Direct to MP3 w/ three clicks. Direct to video codec of my choice with four....says the VideoGet Portable fanboy.

Hey Guys,
I would suggest to install DVDVideoSoft.
It's one of the best softwares to download Youtube videos. You can also convert Youtube video to MP3.
