It partially depends on how you have found the tree.
If you find the tree by looking for colors and the up text, then you can use the found x,y coordinates and have a loop that runs, chopping the tree, untill the uptext is no longer there, and then stop and look for the next tree. this is a simple way to do it for trees other than the 'tree', like oak and above. it may not be perfect though. Try looking at other wood cutters and see how they work and learn from them.
for just 'trees', you can use an inventory check to see each time a new item is added, if(Invcount=(variable for previous inventory count+1) then
go chop new tree

many many options =) im the right person to ask i made a damn nice pwoerchoper before
one thing to do is
something like
Count:=Invencount
repeat
Wait(1000)
until Invencount:=Count+1
but some tress give multiple logs
so you can also just make it wait a certain accmont of time
const
WaitTime=1000//waittime
Marktime(waited)
Repeat
Wait(1000)
Until TimeFromMark(waited)>WaitTime
I personly didnt have a procedure that checken when the tree was gone.
I just made it wait a certain ammount of time before clicking another tree.
You an PM me if you want me to explain the procedures more for you

It's best that you rely mostly on UpText, mousing over the tree and moving on once the UpText leaves. But you must put a failsafe of a time. Otherwise, what if there's a tree right behind the one you just chopped?
