Ok.. I want YOU guys to tell me what video editing software ur using!
Camtasia studios and sony vegas 7.0 ;)
Camtasia is good for beginners, but there arent many options. (i mainly use it for recording)
Sony vegas is good for Intermediates. well, you can use it if your a beginner too. after a a few weeks practice you'll handle it pretty good ;)
if you want a good one get sony vegas. version 8.0 is out btw.

Magix music maker 2006
fun and easy program, also for music.
if its just a simple video you're making then i'd say camtasia ;) you can actually make really high quality videos with it from what i've seen. (non - blurry videos :P)

Premiere Pro. Integrates well with the rest of the Adobe suite.
Have used Vegas before, but I don't like the interface; there's lots of little things that just annoy me and slow me down.
WMM is fine for a quick video though. Same with iMovie (& it has some pretty 'professional' overlays).

i have the creative suit master collection and sorenson squeeze. i do have sony vegas but i havent installed it (its been laying around there for a while).
for those of you who dont know, you dont compress in your editing program (most of the time).
here is whats new on sorenson (i highly recomend it).
Squeeze 5 is the latest version of Sorenson Media’s award-winning compression and encoding software. In only three quick steps users can select, pre-process, and compress video for output in a variety of formats and publish directly to websites or burn to DVD. Offering best in class workflows, the highest quality audio & video codecs, simultaneous multi-file encoding, and optimized filter presets, along with an unmatched level of automation. Squeeze requires no in-depth knowledge of compression formats and allows users to work faster without compromising quality.
