Are you talking about Torrent?

If not open up CMD and Hit up /ipconfig.

Did it used to be faster and now it's slow?
If so did you do a lot of downloading?

If both answers = yes
Then most likely answer = you ISP capped your bandwidth cause you were stupid

1. its because of what hobbit said.
2. you have slow internet which you need to upgrade. i suggest broadband?

and a question. what does /ipconfig do?

Checks all your Ip Settings

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipconfig

This also helps when trying to run any game servers e.g Quake 3 ;)

I'm not entirely sure, but your NAT may be set to strict. Unless you have the BEFSR41 Linksys router I can't help you. Port forwarding really helps though, imo. If you are downloading from Limewire or other torrent type things, you have to port forward for it to be good. try www.finallyfast.com idk if that helps internet, but you know. Maybe :) Just use the free scan and then maybe someone can help you

If you're using internet through a router, try connecting the computer directly to your modem and see if you get any improvement.

On some very trashy internet i was only getting around 5 kb/s, i found that getting LimeWire pro boosted it to about 30kb/s
