Hey everyone, i would like to ask you what item you alch, and if you make a profit or loose money ;) I thought it would be good to ask you all, because i think alot of you alch. Thanks for taking your time answering :p

I've always been under the assumption that Yew longs or Magics were the way to go, though I have never tried those.
Typically I alch all my steel plates that I smith. It's profitable for smithing and buying more bars...but that's not your case :(
I'd say go with d'hides!

Does magic longs really give you profit, what do they go for and how much you get when you alch them?

I find most alchers buy yew longs cuz i sell mine from fletching and find someone on forum in lyk 10 mins. Im not sure tho cuz all the prices are gonna start shifing...

Hmm, Evilchicken, what i meant was that you alch the yew longs for more than you buy them for. But if you really want to make a profit, then Black d hide bodys are the way to go! Or if you are low on money or dont got members, then green d hide bodys.. :)

I'm not really sure about how much more you get, but i think it's more than a nat costs. Try it and post the result here, ill be waiting :)

OK I just tested the black d' hide body idea.
Math!

Market price for black d' hide body: 7,855
Market price for Nature Runes: 258

Total cost for each alch, assuming you have a fire staff: 8,113

How much high alching a black d' hide body gets you: 8,088

Now how much money you will gain/lose: 25 gp per alch

Ok now I gotta say that is pretty good for alching cause you usually lose around 50 - 75gp for each alch. Also a little side note is that I got the price of the nature runes and black d' hide body from Grand Exchange and I got how much you get per alch from RuneHQ. I may do alching yew longs later.
