View Full Version : What's up with the entire road colour thing?

I'm looking at MapWalk.scar and all I see is road colour everywhere. I don't understand why the colour of the road is so significant. Can someone please explain?

Why do we even need to search for colours while click on the MM. Why cant we just click x and y like normal and colour search like normal. Why use radial walk? Is there a less chance of getting banned? Are there other reasons? Someone please explain.

WEll its cuz everything kinda witches once u log..like i mean u'll never make it to the same place with the cordinates u used 5 mins ago from the same exact spot.. Thts wht i think

Try walking somewhere with coords (with randomness) and colours(with color shifting) and then try the same thing with RRW, you'll see the difference.

BTW mapwalk is one of the more complex parts of SRL, and walking is one of the harder things to master.

Well the RoadColor is the only current Dynamic color in Runescape atm all other colors are Static. Basicly the Roadcolor changes at every loading screen by a small amount so therefore we have countered there attack against color clickers by crreating the RadialRoadWalk procedure that will search this color out at each change and store the last colors in a array to check against the next time it changes...

Bascially every now on them when u play rs it will say (loading) really quick and u cant really tell waht happened.
what happens is the roadcolor on the minimap chnges kinda drastically. we cant tell much by eye but for a script its prety drastic. but we have gotten arround fixning it

Thankyou, now I understand that part, but why does it matter so much about the *road*?

well a lot walking o runescape is on roads and if jagex changed every colors on the minimap drastically it would look wierd.
just chahing the road would stop (or try to stop) all scripts that walk on road

But why the road? Can't you walk on the grass with this thing? Why road? Don't they change grass colour as well?
