a.) get back too windows propperly cuz i can't take the disk out right now, and have no clue how to turn the computer off
b.) general linux help

Anything would be nice. I'm going to keep trying and see what I come up with.

generally in linux the way to turn it off is by going system, the exit, or something along those lines.
if u turn off your computer, and while it is in the very early stages of loading (bios screen)
take out your disk then and it shouldn't boot linux.

Depends if you installed Linux, or just booted to it. In BIOS, change the primary boot to your hard disk then the CD drive instead of the CD drive then the hard disk.

Um, If its a Linux LiveCd then you must shutdown the computer for the CD tray to be free. There are alot of Linux Distros, your gonna have to be more specific.

Just pull out the power cable, if you start computer again then quickly take out cd from reader to prevent booting from cd..

Unfortunatly for you linux isn't standardized so to speak. I have no way of knowing what you screen looks like or what distribution you are using. So how can I tell you how to kill it?

Well, there is a command for that anyways. Start a console and type in

sudo shutdown now

That will kill your computer.

Basically you can't be helped unless you tell us the distro and how you booted it.

BTW I recommend ubuntu.

they are right.
when you sign in there should be some big words, say something like mandrake, or ubuntu.

look near the clock and where it says livecd user there is a big red button that mean shutdown. if not try opening console and just type shutdown

Couldn't you just unplug it then restart it. But before it starts up again change your BIOS so that it wont book off a CD or Floppy?
