Runtime error (SMART)

my SMART is not working correctly for some reason recently. Everytime I try to run my script it will give this error:

[Runtime Error] : Exception: Access violation at address 6720456E in module 'Embedded SMART.dll'. Read of address 00000000

I even tested this in a blank script where all it had was:

program new;
{.include SRL\SRL\Misc\SMART.scar}
{.include SRL\SRL.scar}

begin
SmartSetup('world73', True, True, False);
SetTargetDC(SmartGetDC);
SetUpSRL;
end.


I never had this problem before... it was working fine until I went to rev 20. However even when I reverted to rev 19 it still gave this error.

Anyone got a fix for this?

I ran the script you posted and SMART loaded up just fine for me. Try deleting your SRL folder, checking out revision 20 from the SvN, move the plugins, and update your Worlds.ini file. Hopefully one of those can help solve your problem.

I apologize, but I'm a bit new to this and I'm having the same problem. If doing all those things you explained fixed the problem, then can you please give a bit of a step by step on how to do all of those? I would really appreciate it.

I think this is grave digging but, make sure Raykorin you moved the smart plugin correctly. Also don't use that test script, its old.

I've been talking to him, and he did move the plugins. He's actually tried everything I can think of, unless he's doing it wrong, but he said he followed by guide step by step. I am also interested to know the fix if someone can figure it out.

thanks for trying smarterchild, but as Coh3n said I've already tried it. I've looked through a number of threads on this topic and i'm going to continue, but i'll also try creating a thread if i can. I don't know if that's for junior members or just anyone.

There's an Embedded_SMART.dll and Embedded SMART.dll.. I can't remember which you keep and which you don't, but try deleting one, then test it, then if that doesn't work, redownload, delete the other one, and it should work. :)

I searched the plugins folder, but I was only able to find the Embedded_SMART.dll file and no Embedded SMART.dll file. Is there any point in time that the file I need could have been deleted, and do you know where I could find it? I have not seen such a file while looking through scar, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

I only needed to update Java.
