Need some network help

My friend is having some issues with his networking. He keeps getting DOS'd while playing xbox live.

He has a WRT54G and I was wondering if there was anyway to monitor all traffic through the router. Meaning a way to grab the DOS'ers IP.

Actually now that I think of it, it would be better to target the modem to get the IP of the DOS'er. Any ideas on how I could?

Try just locking down the firewall?

This isn't about blocking him. I know how to do that. I want to know how to find his IP.
