what disks do i need to burn a iso say like windows xp do i need cd rw??

CD-/+R or DVD-/+R, depends on the burner and the ISO size.

Although, CD-R would be my guess.
(In case you don't know, they are the ones that can be bought very cheaply in bundles of 50 at computer stores.)

Don't go for good names all cd's are the same ;)

you need a CD+/-R
or you can use a rewritable
because windows xp is only 700 MB and vista is a whopping 3.5 GB
