My laptop is being weird.
The power cord which is stable and not shorted out and all connections are stable will make the laptop randomy
1. have the screan flicker really fast in a 1 second period
2. make loud squealing noises from the pc
3. turns of pc.
So what is happening? it started after i bought a universal charger but returned it because the adapters for it didnt fit the hole correctly
the current charger i am using works fine on all other laptops.
So what is the problem?

I am not overheating. 100% sure.
it works fine if i bend the cord under my leg so it points upwards so it doesn't juggle around and d/c. it is the problem with the charging port AFAIK.

ohhh ok the problem is most likely the thing that u plug the cord into on your laptop is slightly loose or something..u know that little metal thing..so the laptop is getting little jolts to it and shit when it moves. same thing happened to my cousins but after a while it wont charge at all so u might want to take that in and have it checked out because thats a fairly common problem

I will try that, but I think the problem was the universal charger phucked stuff up, so the new charger that's designed for the laptop is not its failt afaik.

I fear that the hardware has been damage by the universal charger... :(

I had a laptop with a similar problem. On mine, the cord had to be held tightly against the edge of the laptop to keep it on. If it was allowed to move, the laptop was shut off instantly. It was caused by the connector on the motherboard losing contacts. I was able to fix it several times by disassembling the laptop complete and re-soldering it. It would work great for another 3-6 months, then have the same problem and I'd have to fix it again.
When I called the company to see what they suggested, they said the only thing they could do to repair it was to swap out the entire motherboard, which would cost about $400. So I never bothered doing that, and kept fixing it myself as necessary until I got a new one.

I ain't putting 400 dollars into this shittop, tara :p
and I am using the factory built charger now and it is the problem one, but the universal is when all the problems started.
I fear that the hardware has been damage by the universal charger... :(
Wish I had money. Sue them for a new charger part and service fees :D

if it is wouldnt it be simpler to just ask hp 4 a new 1....i had a similar problem, and they didnt complain 1 bit...got a new 1 the next day
edit: i dunno if u can hear it...some ppl cant (and i dont c how) but can u hear the little high pitched noise after your monitor flicckers?

Yes, it is a high pitched squealing noise when it flickers, then it instantly turns off. And it is a Compaq [it is like the same thing as an HP]
And no warranty anymore, so I can't just send it to them.
