Right now I have XP installed but I have 2 hard drives in my computer, one 400g and one 70g. I want to put vista on my 70g so when I start my computer I can choose between the 2. Can anyone point me towards a guide that tells how to do this using 2 hard drives? I found plenty telling me how on the same hard drive but none on 2 separate. Thanks for any help in advance.

In your bios, there should probably be an option to boot up from Drive 1 or Drive 2 (or something along those lines, I'm not really sure)

Is that all I need to do though? Would I just install vista like normal onto my other drive?

Most likely.
Before you do anything, just check your bios settings first, and see if you can actually switch from drive to drive.
(I've never done a dual-boot before, I'm just going with what I know about computers =P)

Umm i believe you have to have a certain type of hard drive. It doesn't matter if you have 2 hard drives, Like there's sata and stuff, but they have to be a certain type. Also i believe your mother board has to be able to support that. Also like someone said above ur bios too.
I think it's pretty complicated. I know tho you can't just do it with 2 regular hard drives. Other wise you would probably have to shut down 1 operating system then switch to the other.

I got it to work now, thanks for the help though. All I had to do was just install it on my extra hard drive and it worked fine. And it can be just any 2 hard drives. It just has to be formatted NTFS.

I wouldn't have even done it in the first place. Use a vm or something to run xp.
XP isn't great... at all. It actually sucks. Even though everyone hates vista you gotta have it.

Now I'm having a new problem, when I try to run a script I get 2 errors, one says MSVCR71.dll was not found, and the other says JVM.dll was not found, try reinstalling java. I have already tried that by the way. Any ideas?
Vista f#%king rul *Firefox has just performed an illegal operation and will shut down.*
Hmm.

I got it fixed. I just had to download a file from Wizzup or WT - Fawaki, not sure which, then I had to put it in a certain folder and it works fine now.

Not a chance. Vista is good. It has compatibility issues and takes up ram but its beautiful and modern. Microsoft Word would be the best thing Microsoft created IMHO. (besides Windows) (h)
