Need Help... with rar. file

hi.. ok... small problem i got a .rar file and for some reason it keeps opening up in scar... =\

any one know who to stop it opening up in a program?... because i know i need to use extract wizard to open the file just it want open up in extract wizard because it's opening in a program file :(

Make sure you have WinRAR. If you do and it still opens up with Scar then do this.
1) Right click the .rar file
2) Click on Open with...
3) A box should pop up and just scroll down until you find WinRAR.
4) Make sure that the option Use this everytime (Or something like that) is NOT checked.

Winrar is the program used to extract .rar files.

7-Zip can also open RAR files, but it's free (and hence doesn't require piracy if you can't actually afford WinRAR. http://www.7-zip.org/ (Right-click > Open With > Browse > C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7zFM.exe)

I think this program association is in the registry. Open up the .rar folder in some area of your registry and remove the assciation (this is advanced so don't attempt it without help/know how. I'm not responsible for the outcome. Also... use IZ-ARC for the un-zipper, it's free and you can get it virus-free from www.download.com ( a trusted C-Net site)

right cick on file. go to properties and change the open with button to ur .rar extracter( winrar or something like tht). job done after tht it should open usin the correct software.
