Laptop display problem

When I drag the crosshair onto the RS box it selects the entire window instead of just the RS square. I have adjusted the brightness, true color is set, I have fiddled with contrast, I have set the graphics for the game to the correct settings (low detail etc.). I can't get it to just choose the RS play area. It works fine on my desktop. Does anyone have any suggestions that I haven't mentioned above.

btw- I have searched the website for similar problems and couldn't find any

are you using the runescape client? give us some specs

Dell Inspiron, 2 gig ram, XP Professional, scar 3.15 release 28, ie6, using runescape client ... I have two other desktops setup/configured exactly the same as this laptop. I notice that the RS window flashes white when I cursor over it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Download firefox, try it on that.

Perhaps updating to Internet Explorer 7 will help?
