ok I'm training my mage from 60-66, so I decided to be cheap and do a bunch of curses, but as most you know, even if you don't lower it's defence you still get the experience, and can keep casting curse on it. So i was wondering if anyone knows the best or at least really good armor to wear to lower my magic stats F2P or P2P whichever one has better armor to lower mage (probably going to be P2P), and then also if anyone knows a good monster to train on, like one with high magic def and I'll be able to fight without getting attacked. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
By the way, I'm currently using a mud staff as a weapon, and then the armor I'm using for now is: Dragon Med Helm, Dragon Platelegs, Dragon Boots, Worn-Out Dragon Gauntlets (doesn't help or hurt mage stats), Rune Platebody (almost have D Chainmail :D), and a Rune Kiteshield. Anyone know anythign that is better then those things that can help lower mage more, even if it's just one piece of armor you know of like a better kiteshield, or helm, ect. to lower mage please tell me.

Just curse the magic dummies in Lumbridge. You can curse them even if you successfully cast, and you still get full exp from them.

ok thanks senrath, great help, now I don't need armro to lower my magic exp and I don't need to know a good monster. Rep+ for you for quick reply and great answer (2-in-1). :)
EDIT: I see in your signature your making a dummy curser and seems like it's almost done, if you want I'll test it for you, and good luck with it, it'd be a very useful script.

I should be releasing it sometime later today. I got most of the problems figured out.
Another way that you can train mage exp fast...and make money is superheat... Superheat mith bars and you get the mage + smithing exp and you can make money if you buy/aquire the materials cheep enough.

true, but then you aren't constantly training mage, you gotta mine also and you gotta bank the ores, it might be more exp tho, but I think attacking something would be faster. You know how much exp this gives?

thanks for the post and I actually have read that tut before, it's nice =) keep them coming to help out people who need it. I just need two more levels in mage now though, so I don't really need your tut, I bought enough bodies to get 66 with curse, so I don't need this thread anymore, I'm gonna curse to 66 (currently 64, started at 60). So can someone please close this now.

Buy the ore and just superheat at the bank.
