View Full Version : Block an IP?
I need to block a user from accessing my computer. Is there a way that I can set my computer to automaticly ignore their IP address?

What?
A user accessing your computer through his ip?
Do you have a firewall lol?
I'm playing a game on a network but we can't lan it. We have to play over the internet. This one guy is being a fag and I want to exclude his IP. Is there a way?

Ok .. no .. I think what he means is the following...:
There is a group of people playing on a network .... for instance, a game...
There is a sertain pwerson playing with them... aser does not want that person to play...
How does he block that person's IP?
That is just the instance I am giving for an example... now.. does someone want to post actual help?

You should be able to block it at router/firewall level, most firewalls support it.
How would I do that. I have to let the other people play on the same port. I can't block everything because that wouldn't let the other people play. I just need to exclude a few people that are ruining the game.

Some of the games ( depending on the game) that you can play LAN with allow you to set a password or ban ips.
What game?

Is he connecting to your router?
You can block his ip address from 192.168.1.1 (the last 1.1 depends on router, goto start --> run --> "cmd" --> "ipconfig")
Play around with the settings (not recommended xD) and find out how to block that ip - Eventually set a password
Not sure, is that what u wanted?
It would be what I wanted maybe...if you could tell me direct steps on how to do that. Also we are at school so I don't actually have full control of everything.
The game is Halo. It is just the multiplayer portable version.

Aren't there commands or something? Can't you ban him? Or don't you have Admin/Mod rights or something?

on halo you just set the party to closed ;)
This is a hacked version so I don't know if that applies. I do have Admin priv. I can't just set a password because it doesn't convert it to ***** and it has to be distributed to like 10 people.
If there is a way to just throw down an IP block on Windows Firewall that would be the best.
