It's the a movie made in Blender. Not one bit of closed source has been used to create it.
You can find it here, under download: http://www.bigbuckbunny.org/
Blender is like I said, fully Open Source and very quickly becoming highly popular.

If you have a nice Computer and fast Internet , I suggest downloading (not streaming) the movie in the highest resolution.
Otherwhise, download a lower resolution one. (Don't stream it, you'll probably want to save it on your Hard Disk... ;) )

Enjoy.

PS: If you enjoyed this, you will also like ElephantsDream (http://www.elephantsdream.org/).

Hmm, this Blender you mentioned sounds interesting, mind posting some more info on it, like a link or so? (I don't know, but I just have this weird feeling that googling "blender" won't exactly give me the info I need.)

Edit: The movie actually looks somewhat amusing, and pretty well-made. It's hard to imagine that it was made using not only free, but in addition open-source, um .. stuff.

i dont like how it keeps a command prompt window open when running...Though other than that it has seemed up to snuff if my perusing of its usefulness.

Although i am quite bad at making things that aren't architectural.

EDIT: oh! and the movie, i am downloading both! the bunny one looks funn-eh and the other one looks nifty.

Nice find. I read about a few animated movies made purely in blender. I downloaded it right away but I'm finding it a little difficult to learn. 3D animation is one hell of a learning process, much different than Flash tweens haha.

God Blender is complex X__X.

They are so skilled to have managed to do something like that in Blender !

Hey,

Regardless of what you think, I find Blender the easiest program to use.
Once you understand how to do this..... you can as well do that. And the animating is fairly simple, just takes some time and effort.

.. or make SRL a "Blender beginner" tutorial?

I'd really be interested in learning some Blender, but I don't really want to read the tutorials over there for some reason..

And, you'd make an apprishiated contributement to the community!
