Hey,

A few days ago I downloaded Call Of Duty 5 : World at War, but it won't run.
I tried almost everything I found on the internet, but still an errror. The console says this:

More specific about your pc maybe? Specs and os.

in case you use vista, try this:
Start>Control Panel>Sound

Right Click on the default playback device (e.g. Speakers) and click properties. From there select the Advanced tab.
To eliminate this error the default playback format must be set at 24 bit 48000Hz (Studio Quality). Simply select this from the dropdown list and apply the settings.

Ingram, thanks for your help, but I can't find that frequency stuff anywhere :(

Here are some more specs:

OS: Windows XP Pro SP3
CPU: 2x Intel Duo Core 1.863 GHz
RAM: 2GB DDR2
Sound: Realtek Audio HD, drivers 5.10.0.5628 as of 20/05/2008 (most recent)
GPU: NVidia GeForce 7300 GS, drivers 6.14.11.8120 as of 26/12/2008 (most recent)

Hope that helps.

you need that to mount images :o

there's a couple other ones.. Virtual Clone Drive, Alcohol 120%.. but I would use daemon tools if you can.

get panda security if your gonna torrent anything else, just incase..

panda is the best ^^

I had this issue, strangely it was something to do with a serial modem or something, I will see if I can find it again...

Found it - it was called Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device.
Go (in WinXP) to Run->devmgmt.msc , then browse to sound, video, and game controllers, then disable that one.

I'd recommend you uninstall it then install it again using a different CD key.

Hope it works!

CD-keys doesn't have any effect on running the game.

CD-keys doesn't have any effect on running the game.

If other people are using the same key as you then it can cause problems.
Just reinstalling will probably do the job but you may as well use a 'fresh' key just encase.

Every CD-key which you haven't bought has the problem that you can't play properly. (singleplayer works well using offline profile, just hit escape on profile pages when you run the game). But CD-keys doesn't cause the game to seriously output some diagnostic mumbo-jumbo and disfunction.

When I first installed COD5 I had a problem with it which was solved when I changed the key.

BTW you can play online but only on certain cracked servers.

The problem explained here doesn't have anything to do with going online.

You need to run it on a virtual drive

You need to run it on a virtual drive

What would that do, except lagging like crazy?

My suggestion is that you get a better graphic card or sound card, most problems are caused by those two, and ofc human error.

Next time check ur pc by going to www.canyourunit.com ;)
