RS taking all my CPU

Hi.

Im using Vista home professional, playing music with windows mediaplayer (straight from cd) and running RS on mozilla firefox 3. I frequently get lagspikes that last like 10seconds, like once in a minute. I looked how much CPU is being used, and it was all the time 60-100 %, bouncing from 60 to 100 and back to 60. Everytime its 100%, the music is very laggy and annyoing to listen. I closed Mozilla and BANG, CPU drops to like 15-20%. RS freakin' cant eat ALL my CPU, i have AMD Athlon 64X2 dualcore, 1.9GHz, 2x 256KB cache. I just formated my c: too, so there shouldnt be any un-necessary windowscrapfiles.

What is happening with my computer?

Disable all of vista extras and report back.

Also full specs will help.

what extras?
Here are some specs:


- AMD ATHLON 64 X2 DUAL-CORE PROCESSOR TK-57 (1,9GHZ, 2X 256 KB L2 CACHE)
- UP TO 1407 MB NVIDIA GEFORCE 7000M TURBOCACHE
- 3GB DDR (computer says 4gb, but ive tested its 3gb)

Lag spikes are caused by your internet connection, not CPU utilization.

RS, like many other games, uses a dumb game loop that loops as fast as it possibly can. There isn't much you can do to change that.

Btw, any1 know where i could find a reliable LAG-meter for windows, that wouldnt eat all my ram?
