So This tutorial will help you in procuding a signature like this:
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q312/josh075/FinishedProductcopy.png
So First off, make a new canvas by going to File > New. Set the Canvas size to 400 x 150px and then press D to get Photoshop’s Default Colours, Black and White.
Then we have to render some clouds, so go to Filter -> Render -> Clouds.
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q312/josh075/Step-1.png
Now with those grunge brushes, brush 1 layer black, 1 layer white for about 6 layers alternating brushes per layer. Don’t over do it though, maybe just two or three brush strokes per layer.

Now, time to get a render, pop over to www.planetrenders.net and look for a Mech render, there are some nice ones. Make an account so you can click on the picture to get is as a .png (so you don’t have to cut it out, loosing quality and loosing perfected edges, etc.) Drag the render onto your sig by simply clicking on it, and dragging it onto your signature canvas. Resize it accordingly, but don’t make it too small! Resize it equally by holding the shift button when you resize it, as in the dimensions go down together so it is not skewed vertically or horizontally.

(My Render is Attatched to this post)
Now blend in the render a little to the background. Press Ctrl + U to get up the Hue/Saturation box and lower the saturation, but not all the way, so you loose some colour but not all of it.
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q312/josh075/Step5copy.png
Right, now time to add some colour. Go to Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> Colour Balance. Pick colours that work well together, I went with a kind of blue colour in this sig, but it really depends on what you feel would go well with your signature. Play about with all 3 settings, Shadows, Midtones and Highlights, until you find something you like.
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q312/josh075/Step4copy.png
Now go a layer BELOW the render layer, and take out your ‘Starry Grunge’ brush set, make sure the colour is set to white, as this gives a better effect. Brush 1 or 2 layers of these.
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q312/josh075/Step6copy.png
With my signature, I thought that it looked too bright, as you can see above, so I set the Colour Balance layer to ‘Soft Light’ to make the signature darker.
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q312/josh075/Step7copy.png
Now we can move onto the tech brushing. The key to this is placement and not overcrowding your signature with them so you can still see the background behind. NEVER brush over your render with them though.
Create a layer below the render and colour balance layers and set your colour to white, and take out a tech brush.
You will want 2 – 5 layers, depending on how good you are at brushing. If you get something that is really good, make a NEW layer, so if you fuck it up, then you fuck it up on a new layer, and still have the nice brushing you had before. This part is the most time consuming of the whole tutorial.
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q312/josh075/Step8copy.png
You may say mine is too crowded, but I think not. You have to look at in the way ‘If it looks too crowded, it is too crowded’ so if you think its getting too crowded, it is, so stop.
Set all of your tech layers to Overlay, with a lowered Opacity, depending on what you think looks good.
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q312/josh075/Step9.png
You can add some text now if you like; I went with some small pixel text, called Silkscreen, just to tag my signature.
Now it’s just quickly time to add a border. Make a new layer above ALL of your current ones, and fill it white. Set the Fill % (found under Opacity) to 0, then Double click the layer to bring up the blending options panel. Click on stroke and set the Position to “Inside”. Lower the size from 3 to 2 or 1, depending on what you fancy, and change the colour to something that would suit your signature.

Thus we end up with the finished product!
