View Full Version : Bootable Floppy problems
I needed to boot from a floppy on a machine. I created the floppy and it works fine (I think). When I try to change to the C: drive it gives me
Specified drive invalid
I know there is a C: drive.
The commands I tried
cd c:\
c:\
c:
c
None worked. I also tried all of the drive letters through z. Nothing was 'valid'. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

how did you format the floppy did u use create ms dos start up disk format
I used create Ms Boot Disc. I know the disc works because it boots into DOS.
Sorry about the triple thread...I was lagging... They are deleted now.

Are the drives NTFS? If so, use something like NTFSDOS if you want to read from the drives.
Ok, so if I'm following you here, the floppy cannot boot the hd's that are not FAT's?
Thank you for your help.

Exactly like that. DOS doesn't have built-in drivers to recognize non FAT16/FAT32 drives, so it just pretends they don't exist.
