What is the best software to copy an game disc over to a USB, so it can be pulled out, but still will be working as a game installer?

You want to run Games Portable?
If not? just copy the installer to your USB?

No, I meen one of those programs that find the CD's inside your pc, and then just makes an .iso with it all (making it smaller) and then puts the .iso into your USB, there are some programs that do this in matter of minutes, but they are private...

So what's stopping you from "getting" the "private" programs? ;):p

Do a torrent search for PowerIso, MagicIso, or Daemontools

All of these should allow you to create you .iso files. I personally use PowerIso and haven't had many problems.

Is that what you were asking for?

I know what a .iso is and I know how to create/open them, and its kinda what I meen, but the program I need is a small program, u put it in ur USB, make sure theres a CD in ur drive and just run the program and all the stuff from the CD will be copied to ur USB, just like having the game, without the paying :p

So you need one of the above, just really small?

Thinstall but it never worked for me because I couldn't get a clean installer you need a virtual Pc.(TPB)

So you don't just want to put the iso onto on the thumbdrive directly (copy + paste)? You want it to make your thumbdrive look like it is a disc?

I'm sorry. I don't really understand what it is that you want to do...

You can use Daemon Tools to mount any iso in a virtual drive, and it will appear to the computer as if the CD/DVD is inserted.

The iso doesn't have to be on a thumbdrive to use it, but it could be.

Ill explain again, this time better.

Lets say you go rent a game, you take your usb stick and plug it into ur pc, then you run the program, the program then copys all the content from the CD to your USB without making it un-usable.

Normal copying will sometimes cause errors and such.

Yes, it sounds like maybe you didn't understand us...or we still don't understand you.

Make an .iso file of the disc. Have the image saved to your tumb drive. Then use PowerIso, MagicIso, or Daemon Tools to mount the image. The image will appear as a virtual dirive as tara said. Then open the drive and click the install file if it doesn't autoplay.

.Iso's are exact copies of the disc. They allow you to make a copy of the disc that will still instal just as the actual disc would. Sometimes they won't let the game play, but you could always download a no-cd.

ermm, you can just copy it over regularly. But then its not portable. with most programs, its going to write programs to the registry and then it will only work on that computer. If you want real portability, then you either need thinstall/jauntPE/or a couple other ones.

Ok do you want to install or copy the game to the USB? If your installing - some games require registry files for it to work properly as well as system32 files (somewhat mentioned above). So some games its not possible to run from a thumb drive but for example - WoW can be ran from a USB drive, but its design allows it to be.

Thinstall detects all the adds to register and add of files then puts that stuff in a installer and tada...
