:norris: THE ULTIMATE MICROWAVED-FOOD GUIDE :norris:
By Furuchan64

My Microwave is a newer 2008 model microwave, bought in October of 2008. That is all I know about it. Most times work on most microwaves though :)

This guide was made to help you...

- Microwave food for perfect eating temperature.
- Enjoy what food you've microwaved.
- Combine tasty microwaved food.

ALWAYS REMEMBER: TIN FOIL AND STIRA-FOAM NEVER GO IN THE MICROWAVE!

Section 1 - Canned Soup

Everyone has eaten canned soup. It is just something that is extremely common and easy to prepare and eat.
Examples of canned fruit include...

- Chicken Noodle Soup
- Chicken and Stars
- Spaghetti-O's
- ect...

Can Sizes and times include...

- Small soup can - 1:45
- Medium soup can - 2:15
- Large soup can (EX. Chunky Chicken Noodle) - 2:30
- Extra Large can (EX. Family size Spaghetti-O's) - 2:45 to 3:00

Section 2 - Thickly Canned Soup

Though thickly canned soups are not as common as regularly canned soups, they are still delicious, and many people choose these over the regularly canned soup due to multiple, personal, reasons. Personally, I choose to enjoy a little of both types.
Examples of thickly canned soup include...

- Canned Chille
- Certain beef and rice soups
- ect...

Can sizes and times include...

- Small size (Not commonly seen in thickly canned soup) - 2:00
- Normal/Medium size - 2:30
- Large size - 3:13 (Special number I use)

Note: Thickly canned soups can compress a lot of heat and WILL explode in the microwave occasionally. To avoid messes, cover bowl with a paper towel. Also, remember to stir well before enjoying your thickly canned soup.

Section 3 - Cold/Refrigerated Foods

Left-Overs are always available to eat after parties, big dinners, or just too much food for yourself to eat. And the best way to keep these left-overs as fresh as possible is to refrigerate them. Cold/Refrigerated food items include...

- Cold Pizza (Mmmm)
- Cold Chicken/KFC
- Cold pastas
- ect...

Food Items (Specified) and times include...

- Cold Pizza 1 slice - 0:45
- Cold Pizza 1+ slice(s) - 0:45 + 0:12/slice
- Cold Chicken/KFC (Careful this maybe explode) - 1:00
- Cold Chicken/KFC More than 1 peice - 3:00 + 3:00 Cool down
- Cold Pasta (Mac and Cheese/ Small noodles) - 1:15 + stir + 0:45
- Cold Pasta (Spaghetti/ Long noodles) - 1:00 + stir + 0:45
- Left over hamburger patty - 0:37 + flip + 0:37
- Left over steak piece - 1:45 + flip + 1:00 (Possibly 1:30 if big piece)
- Other left-overs - Approximately 1:00 to 2:00 + stir or flip

Section 4 - Hot Pockets/Burrito's

Hot Pockets and frozen burrito's can be one of the most frustrating things to make in the microwave. Ahh, my hot pocket is too cold! Holy Shieeeet my hot pocket just blistered the entire inside of my mouth! I know... This has happened to me on many many occasions. Hot Pockets/Burrito's include...

- Hot Pockets.
- Frozen Burrito's.
- Tocito's
- ect.

To be truly honest, I cannot help you with this. There is however, one for sure way to get the best temperature out of your hot pocket or burrito.

- For all hot pockets, burrito's, or frozen delectables in the catagory - 3:00 + 5:00 cool down.

This is the only for sure way to cook your hot pocket or burrito all the way and be able to eat it without burning your mouth to hell. My recommendation, Set a timer for 8 minutes and start the microwave at the same time. remove from microwave after 8 minutes have passed.

Section 5 - Oatmeal

Oatmeal = easy. - 0:45 for any kind.

Section 6 - Miscellaneous
For all other food products in the microwave I suggest that you read and follow box directions. Although box directions are usually ALWAYS wrong, you can experiment and find the best time for them.

Other food item and times...

- Quesadillas - 1:08 (Make sure cheese is distributed evenly between two tortillas)
- More to come...

Thank you for using my guide, if you choose to do so, for your microwaving food needs. If there are any suggestion or you have special times for specific food items. post them and I'll add them to the following list.

Thats true. I work at a concessions stand and there is a microwave that is almost bigger than I am and is about 15 years old and about half as powerful as newer household microwaves. The guide is based off my home microwave, fairly new bought in mid 2008?

Good :)

Then +rep and bookmarked cause now i know they are accurate :p

I hate sitting there with cold food wondering... "Hmmmm how long should i put it in for... Too long and i have to wait longer while it cools down... too short and i still have to wait longer cause of the delay of testing it and punching in the new time." :p

I just tested your left over pizza time. It worked perfectly! When I took a bite, I didn't end up needing to heat it more because it was cold, and it didn't burn my tounge! You could imagine how excited I was (seriously) :)

Just to let you know all the times vary per microwave wattage, so basically, you have to know your microwave to use these. Maybe the topic starter can post the wattage of his microwave?

True. I have, a few post sooner, stated my microwave is a newer 2008 model. Wattage i am not sure of. I'll post what i know about it, but I have done these times on various microwaves and most of them work.
