About 3 months ago while playing piano, I noticed my wrists starting to hurt. I thought it was nothing and that it would just go away. Over the course of the week, it gradually got worse. Within about 2 weeks, it got so bad where I had to stop piano and drums completely, stop golf, and I couldn't really lift anything without it hurting.

I went to an orthopedic, he looked at my wrists, took x-rays and said nothing was wrong; he said I was just growing (I just grew like 7 inches in a few months). We went to a chiropractor and she said I have tendonitis in my elbows. I also have thumb tendonitis.

It hurts to type and do a lot of things now. The chiropractor has been doing treatments over the past month and a half, and I have gotten a little better to the point where I can golf and play instruments a little. It still hurts, but I can do them now.

I'm just wondering, has anyone else here ever had tendonitis? How long have you had it for? Did it ever completely go away? Could I have just gotten it because I was growing? I'm just nervous right now that I will never to be able to golf much again... :( It's very depressing; you'd be amazed at how many activities require the use of the wrists.

I have suffered from it in my wrist for over a year now.

I wore a wrist brace for a nearly a year when using the computer and when doing anything which used my wrist (No Jokes:)), I now only wear it whilst playing squash.

I changed my mouse mat a number of times till I found one that provided suitable wrist support.

I changed my mouse to one that wasn't more ergonomic just differently ergonmic to change how my hand was being used. I now switch between various mice to vary the repetition.

I am also very aware of how I am using my wrist and compensate accordingly to avoid things that used to cause pain.

To stop my wrist weekening as a result of trying to rest it I also bought a rubber ball to squeeze.

My wrist is now vastly better than it was, I'm aware or should i say paranoid that the problem will return if I overdo it but generally things are back to normal and I can do all the things I used to do before.

Well that makes me feel better. I thought that if I had it for 3 whole months that I might not ever get much better. That's all you did to get better though? Wore the brace?

I've been icing like 4 times a day and taking Ibuprofen several times a day as well to try to reduce inflammation.

I had tendinitis in my thumbs when I was in elementary school. Apparently playing video games for very long periods of time can do that to a person.

Anyway, I just wore the brace and took pain medication and the tendinitis cleared up in about a month and a half, although my case of tendinitis wasn't exactly severe.

It will get better, follow what your doctor says and try to avoid doing the kind of things that caused it in the first place. i.e. avoid lots of runescape clicking etc thats what bots are for :)
