As my signature might suggest, I'm working on a C++ game with Dark GDK. (Link is in signature.) I was planning for the game to be a "escape the room"-point-&-click-game.

(An "escape-the-room"-game, for those who have no knowledge of it, is a game like the ones found i. e. on this site (http://www.pointnclickgames.com/), where you have to solve an array of logical tasks in order to get out of a place you're trapped inside of.)

I mainly want to create a game like this because I haven't seen too many 3D games like this, and this project will also make me have to relate to an area not bigger than a usual room -- something that won't challenge my limited C++ knowledge beyond the impossible.

As the title of this thread suggests, I need an okay story/plot for the game, something that would explain why one is trapped inside the room and et cetera. (I haven't seen too many point&clicks with good storylines either.. I was hoping to give the game a "creepy" theme, something á lá Silent Hill.) And, I also need some suggestions for puzzles that I could put in the game. (Anything that requires logical thinking will be taken up for consideration!)

When I'm done with the game, I'll of course post it here on SRL, (unless it turns out to be a failure >__<) maybe accompanied with the sauce.

(Oh, and it would also be really nice if someone could find me a 3D modeling program like Blender but less complex, which would have the option to export the models into to .DBO or .X file format OR a environment editor, something like a free FPS Creator (http://www.fpscreator.com/) or any program that would be able to create maps which I could use in my game.)

Hm, you might be onto something, but I'm not fully sure of that.
Care to elaborate a bit?

Normal guy, living a normal life. One day 3 strangers knock on his door, they knock him out. He wakes up in a room with a telephone and a single door. The telephone rings, telling him he must complete the puzzles in exchange for his life.

You have to make it so that the guy finds useful things under that pot plant and when he mixes that with the small piece of paper he found in the sink he gets ... and so on, I love that kind of games :)

Yeah, that's what the idea behind it all was.

make it more than click, make your charicture have to run around with the direction keys, and then maby use the mouse as point of attention, and you click on things to make your charicture look and interact with things.

If your thinking something like the zelda dungon levels where you have to solve all those puzzles and gather keys to enter differant rooms, till you finaly reach the boss room and figure out how to slay him.. then this is deffinatley a game id play ;] i lovee that kinda game.
